Hella Sluyters
Using mostly textiles, Hella Sluyters makes 3-dimentional objects which can sometimes take the form of wearable hats.
The world around her, the things she sees and hears, inspire her work. Combining contrasting textures and materials remains a challenge which she sometimes approaches very intuitively. Layers, movement and structure all play an important part in Hella's work.
Although Hella Sluyters has a milliner's diploma, she is mainly a self-taught artist who has developed her own language through experimenting and following workshops. She lives and works in Roosendaal in The Netherlands. For more information, see her website: www.hellasluyters.com
