Sandy Marcoux

Sandy's passion for textiles started at her mother's knee. Like so many artists, her mother's sewing inspired her to design her own doll's clothes. This was followed by 3 years art training during high school.

Sandy, who was born and raised in Canada, worked in a fabric store for 8 years. Being surrounded by fabrics all day long spurred her on to get her certificate in Fashion Design and she started making quilts after joining the Canadian Quilters Guild. She soon began experimenting beyond the boundaries of traditional patchwork and by the time she moved to England in 2000, she was well on her way to making art quilts.
Sandy loves experimenting with mixed media and keeps expanding her knowledge of materials and techniques by following as many workshops as she can.
Lately, Sandy has started dreaming in colours which she puts down in her sketchbook upon waking up in the morning. Colour plays an important part in her work and she strives to portray different emotions with her use of colour.
Her work can be seen in Tatteljee
